Me as a character in the Great Gatsby Night

During this evening, I played 'Daisy Prowse' it was a 1920's themed murder mystery, which I played the main character, not only did I do my make-up and hair I did a number of other girls who were involved. This night really made my passion for make-up and hair come alive, it made me understand that it's more about the whole look than just either the hair and make-up. Below is a picture of me in costume:

As you can see this is not my natural hair, however to reach the level of volume and curls in this wig I used a number of products, as this was a wig that you could use heat and normal hair products on, I used my big curling tongs at a medium heat and held for 30 seconds, and I used Tresemme superior hold, which held my hair for the 4 hours that I needed to play my part.
For my makeup I used No7 primer and beautifully matte foundation that gave me the perfect base for my make-up, as I am fair skinned I made sure that this was executed well as in the 1920's there was no such thing as bronzer, which meant my make up had to be fair and not harsh looking on my skin. However, my eyes were dark and mysterious as of course I needed to have a little bit of mystery in my makeup, this was controlled by the shape of my eyebrows. The red lipstick that captured everyone's eyes was Yves Saint Laurent this red helped finish off my look.
